Woo hoo!  My first 1/6 scale Berserk kit (13 inches tall, baby)!  And my oh my, what a great one to start, eh?  I'm a fan of Femto's character design, so I've been looking forward to getting this kit done for quite some time now!  It's also been several months since I've added a new finished kit to my collection so you can imagine how exciting this one was for me!

But anyways, soooo, let's see... where to start... well, the kit didn't come with a base.  Thus, the base you see pictured below was completely created by good old John!  He carved each stone with a dremel, and then created the pool of blood with a liquid gel that hardens over time.  He added putty at the bottom of the pool, painted it red, and then after detailing the stones and faces/skulls, he poured in the gel.  Very cool.

For the cape, he used both an airbrush and a handbrush.  As you can see from the first few in-progress pictures, the purple has a very matte look.  But after the detailing, such as the shades and the veins, John added a few layers of gloss to help bring out the contrast as well as make Femto a little more slimy and shiny.  After all, Griffith IS a pretty dirty slime ball, that bastard!

Then of course, there is the face.  I wasn't sure what color the lips and the eyes were supposed to be (because the manga and anime never gave a good look at those features in color) so we decided to go with bluish/purplish lips, and red eyes.  Looks pretty accurate, I would have to say!

Overall, I'm totally diggin' this kit!  It's big, it has a killer base, it's mysterious, and it's painted superbly =).  Once again, hats off to John for another awesome job!
